On Thursday, January 15, 2026, a group of Rusty Bindings members traded ski boots for cinema seats and gathered at the Orinda Theatre for one of the town’s best-kept traditions: Free Movie Night. The featured film was the timeless classic The Godfather, shown on the big screen in all its cinematic glory—and the evening delivered exactly what makes these nights special.
We met early for dinner at Europa Hofbräu, sharing good food, easy conversation, and the kind of laughter that reminds everyone why Rusty Bindings is about far more than skiing. From there, we strolled over to the Orinda Theatre, validated parking in the garage, and took our seats together just in time for the 6:30 pm showing.
The experience was pure fun: a legendary film, a historic theater, and great company—all without tickets, lines, or hassle. These free movie nights, held on the third Thursday of every month, are a perfect low-key social outing and an easy way to stay connected during the off-season.
